Whether you're interested in personal instruction, custom quilt design, or learning on your own with the help of my sewing and quilting books, I look forward to sharing the fun and creativity of sewing with you. I am currently offering private lessons in sewing instruction, basic machine skills, quiltmaking and design for all ages. Please enjoy your visit to this site; I welcome your comments and inquiries.
In the past several years I have taught in different settings with a variety of groups. I have worked with individuals with early stage dementia and their caregivers at the American Folk Art Museum. I have taught machine sewing classes at Blythedale Children's Hospital over several school years. These classes, for students with multiple disabilites, were part of an Eileen Fisher Self Image Grant for Girls. I have recently finished several handsewing workshops at Rye Arts Center with elementary age children.
As an quiltmaker and artist I continue to show my work whenever I can. I was thrilled to be juried in as a semi finalist in the American Quilter's Society Lancaster quilt show. I was in such good company!
My fabric artwork was showcased in a one woman show "Pleated, Seamed & Stitched: Fabric Constructions" at Southern Connecticut State University.
I will take on commissions for unique custom quilts in projects ranging from classic patterns to quilts including photographs and other memorabilia. Sort through your treasures - t shirts, baby clothes, handkerchiefs, ties - and bring them to me!
I am especially skilled in teaching children to sew - so if you have a child begging to learn please contact me.
